About

I am a researcher in medical informatics and digital health. I have a background in engineering. I received a Master’s degree in computer science from Seoul National University and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. During my studies, I researched deep learning algorithms for bioinformatics, especially in biological sequence analysis.

After finishing my Master’s degree, I joined Looxid Labs as a research scientist. Looxid labs is a digital healthcare company developing screening systems and digital therapeutics for cognitive impairments with VR devices and wearable EEG sensors. My research mainly focused on constructing AI-based information systems that can assist in interpreting EEG signals in efficient ways. Previous research projects include interpretable AI algorithms and novel clinical decision support systems based on AI.

In addition to the clinical information system, I am doing a lot of research to validate our company’s products in clinical trials. I investigate whether we can differentiate cognitively impaired subjects from healthy controls with data acquired from our products. Furthermore, I am also designing and validating novel VR contents for assessing several cognitive domains, which include spatial navigation deficits, vestibular perception abilities, and attention.

I want to share ongoing projects and my thoughts on digital health industry in this blog. If you want to reach me, please send email to leeth0130@gmail.com!
